(Social Media, Gender Equality, Freedom, and other stories…)

Like the song from Future Royalty, “Back in the game” I am back to work, and also back in the big show from Social Media….

Coming back from holidays means changing the game of reflection into the game of work-routine printing with pressure and timing the framework that boost the power of being simply… ourselves. A smooth transition if you see it under the light of personal resilience, not exactly in the political, and Media arena, that it looks pretty much of a show rather than a serious attempt to inform, connect and deliver positive outcomes for development, and harmonious co-habitat.

Summer those times to stop, reflect and look back .. not to slow down, by the contrary, time to accelerate, absorbing information, from formal and informal knowledge, being open to the new, reshaping our own convictions without hesitation, a generous focus on reflecting without forgetting, just resetting.

The capacity to flow with the challenges, somehow is associated to strong skills or cold blooded attitude, instead of perceiving as a skill that allows to “surf the wave” within patience and determination, vibrating with a hot heart, and cold thoughts. Is indeed a true skill, that do not necessary comes from experience or strength towards frustration but to inner capacity to be resilient, and relentless in crises. The unpleasant feeling of not having all that we consider that belongs to us, what we deserve, may be replaced by the feeling of openness, and vision to focused energies, and deep thoughts from what we really need. A reshape of the traditional  perception that we hold by becoming creative and push towards a new dimension. Sometimes, is simply the power to wait patiently till it comes to you. Not exactly in the “personal correct times” but in the ones aligned harmonically with the purpose, that higher, and many times hidden from our consciousness and biased thoughts. That purpose that is leading the rest of the path towards a consistent outcome from the harvest that has been seed along our whole life. However, is not reasonable to expect that it will come from the outside, in fact, is exactly the contrary, is a personal effort, despite all the attempts to make societies follow prejudiced principles 

Like the photo from Almagro, Spain, the “Corral de Comedias”, a theatre built in 1625 “bread and circuses” is sadly the way to move forward in our lazy societies that gives the political sector, Media, and Social Media the power to decide over others life’s, and values choices, instead of building their own protection criteria that eventually may contribute to a stability, and especially now, the utopic global peace.

Different shapes of “shows” that along history have achieved the same goal: manipulate the public opinion to the point that the masses are not the ones that decide, but the ones that follow the wave blindly.

Is a matter of knowing ourselves correctly rather than general goals of what each human being deserves, or/and should interpret. The inner thoughts, and purposes especially those conscious are the powerful ones that lead to overcome the challenges that we are currently facing in an extremely negative atmosphere.

Which are the tools that boost a peaceful mind on acceptance, and tolerance? In a world for whom confrontation -particularly built by political leaders and feed by the Media-,  

is the way to solve situations it looks as if being “noisy” is part of the job to get into stability. However, discretion and silence is the best defences in a world that becomes confusing and tendencious. Not only for the magnitude of the tragedies but for the sinister of their hidden agendas. 

Silence is one of that tools that helps on the road towards acceptance, and fulfilment -at least a the personal level-, the capacity to take time to reflection, and positive isolationism bring also the power to influence from a reliable position. Is it key to make of individual action one of the main drivers as it is precisely the lack of creative initiatives that is giving the leadership to institutions, and the so -called global leaders. 

Basic tips to be in Socia Media: Inserted in groups, not a crowd, following the trends, not the ideologies behind the trends, being part of groups not masses of no reflexive people, discrimination from the information received 

Its about making senses each individual mission in life. The healthy habit of finding purpose through high goals, and clean spirit. The exhausting task of putting values before action, friendship before profits. Values that transcend the very essence of “being”, and led us into the uncertain scenario of acting out from popular logics but personal art of living. Is indeed an art, to make each routine a challenge to approve with the best qualifications from an imaginary teacher that turn to be an intimate, and internal Judge.

The mirror to look at, however, is a photoshopped  mirror, a truly “cardboard world” made out from fantasies, and fake. Is it said that “antisocial people, are not actually anti social but just reject fake people, stupidity, and drama” thats the perfect way to describe the feeling when I analyse the unreasonable, and unproductive way to use a powerful resource like Social Media. 

Fake, instead of authenticity, drama instead of hope, stupidity instead of use of critical thinking, a truly threaten way to put people at the same level, out from diverse criteria. Its surprising how creativity is reduced to practical aspects in how to use Social media instead of posting something especially different that leaves a message to reflect on. Is it sad to realise that there is no a hard competition in terms of high goals, and deep message.

 The choice is only mediocrity and I do believe there is an agenda on it, the more “equal” we are in these terms the better the manipulation, The more we spend time in “catching up” with the standards the less we keep the focus in what is creating solutions to change democratically instead of a centered power. Blindly we trust on Media, without realising that most of the news are made out from(lucubrations rather than an invitation to think, reducing their work  just to a description of facts. 

This is the inflection point that we hardly accept: there is a conclusion behind any news even if it is changed the following week, making from news the truth, and from facts, the interpretation of that reality. 

As it recently happened with the famous Kiss from the Spanish Football Chief Luis Rubiales.         If we watch the video from Jenni Hermoso immediately after the kiss they were making fun of the kiss along with the rest of the team, anyone would ever considered a victim from a sexual aggression as it becomes when the Media started pushing towards that interpretation. A clear sign that was not an attitude that impacted negatively on her, or that she  perceived as humiliating or threatening but an “anecdote” as Ms Hermoso stated shortly after.

The role of Media plays is key in boosting aggression, and social lynching instead of asking for an apology. In the end, its all about that : an apology. however the Media coverage was exactly the same as if it were for a violent assault. The Media in UK* .stressed this fact in The Guardian by Barbara Ellen.  However that was not the agenda, so, the facts must be changed, and we go back in the game of “victims and aggressors” , good and bad, bad or wrong. An scenario that doesn’t allow any kind of respect to anyone that perceive it differently, along with the Government that make from gender equality not a driver to make women empowered, but victims of a terror story that sometimes happened, that sometimes makes women victims -or even dead- but in this case was just a kiss, inappropriate, rude, and out of place, but not an aggression . 

Again and again, anger lead the way, confrontation wins over any attempt to conciliate, peace is not popular so we need to destroy the enemy that we do not even know what or how is it. Victims – aggressors and the game is served.

Is this social movement against the kiss a war that aims to change the culture and empower women? I do not think so, in fact I strongly believe that only serve those that gain from aggression, and the wrong activism. Culture changes with the pass of time, convincing the people that is better to do it differently not by social stoning.

I have no idea if Luis Rubiales is a “bad guy”, and deserves what is happening to him, although the only judgement is supposes to be in relation to a kiss on the lips, not to the rest of his professional or personal behaviour. 

An exemplary measure? not at all, it creates the precedent that anyone may be lead by their personal feelings and gain a wrong popularity, instead of a formal judgement it becomes a wave of rage that leads into confrontation, and disproportionated reactions. Just to exposure the inadequacy of this attitude, and ask for an apology it would be fair enough. 

All the debate in relation to gender equality, and sexual violence goes in relation to a disease that hold a devastating impact in women, psychological, emotional or/and physical, not minor offences that in the end are part of the strictly private sphere of personal perceptions. 

Time to reflect, not to follow the Media only-one criteria, diversity would leads into more democracy, not rage under the monopoly from Media, and Social Media.
